Sweating away another long, boring, football-less summer.

Mrs. Funk (July 28th):
Today, I stayed within my DailyPlate calorie limits and even did a half an hour on the elliptical when all I wanted to do was watch Breaking Bad and eat leftover birthday cake. It's hard to make changes, but I'm trying.

Mrs. Funk (July 27th):
I'm somewhat frustrated that within the next week we have the hub's birthday, my birthday, and our anniversary. It's much harder to want to eat healthfully and exercise when we should be partying. I want cake and to sit on my no-so-dainty arse.

Ah, well. Life is about not doing exactly what you want to do. If I always ate exactly what I want to and sat around eating foie gras and watching TV, I would be a sad person. Here's to making better decisions, even when it's hard.

beefytee (July 27th):
2425 yesterday. 120 burned jumping rope for 5 minutes.

I weighed light yesterday. I think it is because it was so hot and I sweated it off. I'm sure my weight won't be down when I weigh myself tonight.

Besides jumping rope, I bought a new dresser for my daughter had had to haul it around, so I wasn't completely inactive.

I need to find a way to eat less sugar. I'm over myplates recommended amount after breakfast. Anyone have a good spread that doesn't have much sugar for my bread in the morning? I may have to go with cheerios.

One thing about my sugar intake. Most of it is from fruit. I don't think all sugar is equal and sugar from fruit is better than the high fructose stuff. Am I wrong here?

Space Ghost (July 27th):
Stationary bike for 1 hour this morning... watched first half of "Slumdog Millionaire". 1-mile open water swim in the afternoon; water temp 75°, ambient air temp 86°. Played city league softball for 2½ hours in the evening in 90°+ temperatures, I think I sweat out at least a pound (but we won both games).

Drunk Tank (July 26th):
Alright, so I started. Lets hope I can keep with it. I set up an acct with dailyplate.com and I am looking forward to tracking what I eat. I am trying to cut out all sugary snacks. Day 1 and I am craving like a mofo. Hope this passes.

beefytee (July 25th):
If any of you are doing Myplate.com/ livestrong.com feel free to friend me and check up on my.

First Name: Beefy
Last name: Tee

It is a great site for tracking calorie intake. It is really easy. I added a recipe today (not a healthy one):

http://www.livestrong.com/recipes/beefy-s-sugarcakes/

I love that the nutritional fact pop up beside it.

So far today, I'm a little over calorie wise, but I suspect I will be on Sundays.

I've consumed 2388. 420 over what I need to lose a pound a week.

Space Ghost (July 25th):
Missed the swim this morning. Stationary bike 1 hour in the (late) evening; finished "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Strong ending. Recommended.

UtahDan (July 24th):
Walked this morning. It's a start.

Space Ghost (July 24th):
Stationary bike for an hour while watching the first half of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" on Netflix. Interesting show so far... I'll watch the rest tomorrow evening.

Space Ghost (July 23rd):
Just got back from an open water swim in nearby Pine Lake. I tore my labrum in my right shoulder last September (2009) while wakeboarding... haven't been swimming since - that is, until today. Because Pine Lake is somewhat small (½-mile across), internal combustion engines are prohibited on Pine Lake... only trolling motors allowed. This makes for a nice quiet wave-less swim. I managed to swim across (without a break) in 14 minutes, took a 4 minute rest, then swam back in 16 minutes (with one small break). When I got back to my starting point, I warmed down for about 3 minutes. My bum shoulder feels good... well, it is as sore as the other (good) shoulder is.

Water temperature was a very comfy 73°; ambient air temperature was 75°.
